Operational Answers
Resolve the assumptions behind the brief before choosing a fragrance or a device.
Is a bespoke fragrance always the best choice?
No. An existing documented composition may meet the brief, and no added fragrance may be the appropriate result. Bespoke development is useful when there is a clear creative and operational reason for it.
How should we consider scent-sensitive occupants?
Plan fragrance-free options where feasible, a clear reporting route and a practical stop procedure. Do not describe any fragrance as universally tolerated. Natural ingredients and low perceived intensity do not guarantee suitability.
Can one fragrance be used throughout the building?
A shared composition does not justify identical deployment. Review each zone for use, exposure, airflow and exclusions. Some zones may need no fragrance even when the rest of the property uses a signature composition.
Which supplier documents should we request?
Request documents relevant to the finished product, proposed use and market: instructions, required safety data and labels, and applicable IFRA conformity information. Confirm device compatibility and change notification. No single document certifies the building installation.
How long should a controlled trial run?
There is no universal duration. Select a review window that includes relevant operating conditions, staff exposure patterns and a realistic opportunity for feedback. Agree stop conditions before starting.
Will added fragrance solve an existing odour problem?
Do not assume so. Investigate cleaning, drainage, moisture, waste and ventilation first. Fragrance can complicate diagnosis and should not replace corrective maintenance.
Is HVAC delivery better than a local device?
Neither is universally better. Compare zone control, airflow, service access, integration requirements and stopping arrangements. Building-integrated proposals need competent mechanical review.
Who owns a custom fragrance formula?
Ownership and exclusivity depend on the contract. Clarify formula rights, permitted uses, supply continuity, reformulation and what happens if the supplier relationship ends. Custom does not automatically mean client-owned.
Does the scenario composer send a message?
No. It builds a plain-text outline in your browser. Copy or download it yourself. Sending an email is a separate action outside the composer.
